Raymond Buckland

The Father of American Wicca

Buckland was born in London, England, on the 31^st August 1934. Buckland was introduced to Spiritualism by his uncle when twelve years old. He emigrated from England to the United States in February 1962 and was responsible for the introduction of contemporary witchcraft into the United States.

Gerald Gardner was a big influence on his witchcraft/wiccan journey. Gardner’s books went out of print, so Buckland wrote Witchcraft From the Inside to try to replace them.
